Click here for a directory of Boards' officers. VIEW PRINTABLE ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE CHART There are ten (10) functioning BOARDS of the National Baptist Convention of America, Incorporated. The following is a brief description of the nature and function of these boards. INSURANCE & ANNUITY BOARD In consideration of the Convention’s objectives, is charged with coordinating with the Convention’s designated retirement, disability, or health insurance agents membership drives. Shall be responsible to negotiate on behalf of the Convention terms of any agreements for Insurance and Annuities. COLLEGE & SEMINARY BOARD In consideration of the Convention’s objectives, is charged with working closely with accredited predominately black colleges to develop a ongoing relationship with National Baptist Convention of America, orientate our conventions’ of the importance of attending college, organize scholarship programs for Conventions’ youth and seek to develop an institution of higher learning to be operated by the National Baptist Convention of America, Inc. EDUCATIONAL BOARD The Educational Board, in collaboration with the Convention’s objectives, seek to provide financial assistance to a group of educational institutions (colleges, universities, seminaries) for the training of men and women for effective and full-time Christian service. The Educational Board seeks to upgrade the scholarship thrust into an endowment trust fund. The interest which accrues from the endowment will be used for scholarships. The Educational Board also has plans to develop the worship period during the annual session into a massive spiritual and educational renewal to heighten the importance of the convention’s educational objective. EVANGELICAL BOARD The Evangelical Board, in collaboration with the Convention’s objectives, is charged with the overall responsibility for promoting the ministry of evangelism as ordained by the Great Commission mandated by our Lord, Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:19-20. The Board seeks to inculcate the principles of evangelism in every area of the Convention’s (churches) life and work. The Board also seeks to provide teaching and training methodologies in evangelism with particular emphasis upon proclamation and witnessing as demonstrated in the annual Winter Evangelism Convention. The Tent Revival, conducted annually in April, proposes to reach those persons who have not accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Intensive counseling with new converts is provided to support and guide their decision of acceptance. The significance of the ministry of evangelism in the Convention is demonstrated by the scheduling of the Evangelical Hours. HOME MISSION BOARD The Home Mission Board, in collaboration with the Convention’s objectives, is charged with the overall responsibility for promoting the Home Mission ministry of the Convention in response to the Great Commission enunciated by the Lord Jesus Christ. The ministry of the Home Mission Board is designed to provide financial assistance to mission preachers, pastors, churches, and individuals experiencing dire financial need; provide assistance to churches and areas stricken by disasters and acts of God; provide discipling techniques and training through symposia , workshops, and seminars in leadership and church growth; promote the Home Mission ministry of NBCA, Inc.; promote the enrollment of new churches with NBCA, Inc. through a marketing ministry, and keep alive a communications network with all churches in NBCA, Inc. PUBLISHING BOARD The Publishing Board, in collaboration with the Convention’s objectives, is charged with the responsibility as being the final arbiter (with the President’s approval) for all documents written and bearing the name of the National Baptist Convention of America, Inc, The Board is responsible for negotiating three bids with publishers/printers and recommending the printer/publishers demonstrating quality workmanship with the most economic cost. The three-pronged responsibility of the Board is proofing/editing, marketing/sales, and distribution of all literature produced by NBCA, Inc. The Publishing Board is responsible for reading, proofing, and editing materials forwarded by the Christian Education Board for relevancy, authenticity, doctrinal acceptability, life application, and general acceptability. The Publishing Board is also responsible for developing strategies for marketing, sales, and distribution. The Board is also responsible for securing the copyright for all NBCA, Inc. publications, the appropriate logo, a brief statement from the President, and a brief statement about the Covenant Action Plan. Financial accountability for all sales is incumbent upon the Publishing Board and reported to NBCA, Inc. National Office.
