NBCA PRESS
The National Baptist Convention of America, Incorporated steps out further as we bring publications under the name “NBCA PRESS”. Not only does this press include the publications that we have traditionally printed in the past such as mission guides and brotherhood manuals, Church School Literature, Church Training materials, doctrinal studies and organizational handbooks, it broadens to include the Christian writings of individuals.

The National Baptist Convention of America, Incorporated has the following types of publications available which can be ordered through NBCA Press at 1320 Pierre
Avenue, Shreveport, Louisiana 71103.

NBCA, INC. CHURCH SCHOOL LITERATURE
The National Baptist Convention of America, Inc. has subscribed to the UNIFORMED LESSON SERIES. Therefore, all lessons across all age levels, will have the same lesson Scriptures and theme.

Lessons are prepared to address the visual-learning as well as the graphic-learning student. Special features are offered in the literature which cannot be found anywhere else. Some special features of this literature are as follows:

  1. Heritage House - A special feature to identify famous Black people known within the American culture, and their contributions to Black America. This feature is included in each lesson, and the teacher’s guides.
  2. Hymn-of-the-Month - Three hymns are included that can be taught in the general body or in individual classes. These hymns are complimentary to the lessons and are included in the Teacher’s Resource Packets.
  3. Teacher’s Resource Packets - The Teacher’s Resource Packets include material to enhance study of the Church School Literature. Special activities for all age groups are featured, to include but not limited to the following:

MISSION GUIDES
The vision of Dr. E. Edward Jones, the thirteenth President of National Baptist Convention of America, Incorporated to publish printed materials by members of the convention for convention members study, biblical application, and Christian Education resulted in the initial publication of several literature pieces. One of the longest running publications (since 1990) has been the Mission Guide designed primarily for the Mission study groups. These books have covered doctrine, fellowship, the meaning of the Church, evangelism, patterns for successful missions, et cetera.

BROTHERHOOD MANUALS
Shortly on the heels of the Mission Guide, the Brotherhood Manual was developed primarily, but not exclusively for the laymen’s groups in our convention. These study manuals were designed to increase the effectiveness and participation of lay ministry in biblical studies including such foci as evangelism, discipleship, understanding ministry, living as obedient Christians in today’s society and culture, the ministry of the Holy Spirit, et cetera. This publication initially consisted of twenty-six Bible lessons to be studied over the calendar year.

CHURCH IN TRAINING PUBLICATIONS
The Church in Training publications evolved out of the Convention’s commitment to awaken the constituency to the necessity of application of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to various segments of church, family life, counseling, social concern, education, the church in society, the church as vanguard in society, Christian socialization and other significant areas where the Gospel of Jesus Christ applies.

DOCTRINAL STUDIES
Another category of Christian Education publication which emerged focused upon doctrinal studies designed primarily to focus attention upon what we as Baptists believe and to collaborate those beliefs with sound Christian theology and to correct and combat all of the spurious doctrines which have developed in our culture over the past twenty years.

ORGANIZATION HANDBOOKS
In order to provide written verification for the operation and functions of the Convention’s auxiliaries our publishing efforts produced an organizational handbook for the Ushers Auxiliary and one for the Health Awareness Team. Other organizational handbooks are scheduled to be published for all functional auxiliaries of the convention.
