Dr. John C. Raphael, Sr. will be in Haiti on Monday, January 24th. We have been informed that our Superindent suffered injuries but his spirit is positive. Keep him in your prayers as he is the only survivor in his family. We believe our mission sites have been destroyed, First Baptist Church of Pentionville (Port-au-Prince) and Emmanuel Institute. Quoting a wise Pastor, “Emergency demands Urgency.” I am appealing for an immediate response on behalf of your church, associations and state conventions to give Dollars for the Haitian Disaster. This Sunday is a good time to receive an offering. We encourage you to send in funds to the Dallas Headquarters Office made payable to: NBCA Relief Fund

Supplies will be transported via ship to Haiti and distributed as part of a joint effort with the Lott Carey Foreign Mission Convention and National Baptist Convention of America, Inc. International. I will be traveling to Haiti with Dr. Julius R. Scruggs, National Baptist Convention USA, Inc. , Dr. T. DeWitt Smith, Jr., Progressive National Missionary Baptist Convention, Inc. and Dr. C. C. Robertson, National Missionary Baptist Convention of America in the near future. We are responding to the needs of 1/3 of the population of people of the African Diaspora with a Prayer, Care, and Share concern knowing that those who give to the poor lend to the Lord, Proverbs 19:17 .

Before starting a collection of items to send to the B. J. Maxon Church
Resource Center for Friend Ships, please do the following:

For efficiency properly sort, clearly label and pack items for distribution
Make two specific content lists. One should be taped to the outside of each box and the second list should be placed in the box
Pack related items together to prevent further sorting
Food items - canned or dry goods, when needed, should be boxed separate from other items - No Perishable Foods
Clothing - new clothes and shoes.

Generators- all sizes, gas and diesel
Jet Fuel
Nylon Rope 1/4"(comes in 600 ft spools) - can use as many as possible
Portable Halogen Lights - 500 watt with stands
Extension Cords, especially #12 cords at any length
Portable Shower and Toilet Trailer
Flashlights and Batteries
Gloves and Dust Masks
Rice in 100 lb sacks
Beans in 100 lb sacks
Cooking Oil
Meals Ready to Eat
Electrolyte Powder
#10 cans of beans and vegetables
Flour, Corn Meal, Sugar, Yeast and Brown Sugar
Mayonnaise, Mustard, Jelly and Syrup
Bakery Mix, Pancake Mix, Powdered Milk and Powdered Eggs
Cereal, Oatmeal, Coffee and Creamer
Dehydrated Fruits and Vegetables
Canned Tomato Products, Chicken and Beef Base
Bottled Water and Bottled Beverages
Paper / Plastic Cups (hot and cold)
