| Virgin Island Field Report |
|
We send greetings to you from the Virgin Islands in the precious name of Jesus. It is His grace that has kept us. It is my sincere desire that this report will be fruitful to the entire Convention.
I wish to thank the Foreign Mission Board for your concerns, prayer, and financial support for the work of the mission in this part of the world. The hurricane season is upon us again and it is estimated that we will have 18 storms, 7 of which will be major. The Virgin Island is in the direct path of the hurricanes, and we covet your prayers for God’s saving grace from the fierce winds. This summer we will minister to approximately 95 boys and girls ranging from three years to seventeen years. Our educational and recreational activities include swimming, sports, movies, games, drama trips and two weeks of Vacation Bible School. Reports from the Churches of St. Thomas, Dominica, and St. Vincent are encouraging. The Pastors remain steadfast and the congregations are faithful. One of the churches on the Island of Dominica is unfinished. The foundation and flooring are complete; however, the wall and roof are not. We pray for their encouragement and continued faith in their labor for the Lord. Last year the Lord blessed us accordingly:
In November of this year, my son and I will travel to the Islands of Dominica and St. Vincent to visit the brethren and conduct Ministry training workshops, and teaching. Please also remember us in your prayer. Yours in Christ, Dr. Clarence Hedrington Superintendent of Missions Virgin Islands Baptist Mission |
